Q: How do i get to six flags(illinois) without a car?
I wanna go to fright fest this year.
A: Depends on where you live. If you’re a few miles from it, take a bus.
Q: Did you know that in Illinois, a car must be driven with the steering wheel?
Do you have any other weird/funny laws?
A: In Texas there is a law that states that you can’t ban cupcakes from schools
Behold the power of cupcakes!
Edit: Here is another one from Texas! “When two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone.” How would one go? Uhhh.
In Denver, Colorado I have two good ones!
1. It is illegal to let ones llama graze on city property. Not many people that live in Denver own llamas hahaha.
2. It is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor. Umm?
In Pueblo you can’t let a dandelion grown within city limits :O
In California it’s a $500 fine for detonating a nuclear device.
In Hawaii coins are not allowed to be placed in one’s ears.
Q: Will the University of Illinois allow freshman to bring cars on campus.?
A: Yes. However, you will be required to park them in the residential lots, South of Florida Ave, or by Assembly Hall, which can be quite a distance. Freshmen are at the bottom of the heap when it comes to parking assignments. There is almost NO parking near classroom buildings, and Champaign’s Finest will ticket at frequent intervals.
I’d strongly suggest considering whether you need a car on Campus. C-U has an excellent bus service with links to the airport and Amtrak station, and there are many options available for leaving town, including 4 bus lines that serve Chicago and the Suburbs.
Q: If you are driving a car with NO license in ILLINOIS, what will happen to you?
My friend, who is 19, is too fuckin lazy to go to the Secretary of Illinois to get his damn License; yet, he owns and drives a car like a dumbass. The car does have insurance but he has no license! Can you please, list what the hell will happen if he doesn’t get a license? Thanks! Apparently, what I say isn’t true or isn’t clicking in his damn head. Appreciate it! Chicago, Illinois by the way…
A: If stopped for any reason he will be ticketed for driving without a license. Since he can’t drive his car away, unless he has a passenger with a valid license, the tow truck will be called and his car will go to the impound yard, where he will need a license for both identification and to take the car out of impound.
In other words, it can cost him his wheels.
Q: Is it possible to live without a car in Wheaton Illinois?
I am considering applying for a job at Wheaton College.
I want to know it would be possible to live without a car.
I like living simply all I need to be happy is to have an apartment and grocery store within walking distance of where I work.
Also what is public transportation like? Do people use it and what do they use it for? (where does it go)
A: I think you should be fine. I live in Elmhurst, IL and I don’t need a car. A lot of stuff is within walking distance including grocery stores. I think Wheaton is the same way.
Q: In Illinois, can a police car pass a flashing stop arm on a school bus? Is there info on this online?
I am a bus driver who had a police car pass through my stop arm, which was flashing and I was unloading children. When I asked another officer about this he said it was ok for the officer to do this. I thought the law was that they couldn’t. Even if they were in pursuit.
A: They must stop also – unless emergency driving – such as red lights/siren. They can be “in Pursuit” going to stop a car that violated the law – with out lights – you don’t turn on your lights until the stop is called in and plate is given to dispatch – so that could be a case.
Q: can a person with a revoked driver’s license in Illinois own a car and get insurance?
he would be an excluded driver.
A: Being an excluded driver means that he’s not covered by somebody’s insurance. He can get his own policy, but its going to be a sub-standard company because he’s a high risk.
But he absolutely should not drive. He WILL be arrested and will most likely have his vehicle impounded. Many municipalities in IL are now putting high fines on impounds.
I’d wait it out until he can get is license back. Because if he gets caught, then he can kiss that license goodbye for a loooong time.
Q: Glass tinting and head/taillight smoked covers laws in Illinois?
I was just wondering, what are the regulations for window tinting and putting smoked covers on headlights or taillights in Illinois? I’m asking because I’m interesting in buying some for a car, but don’t want to get tickets for it. And while I’m at it, what are the regulations concerning neons/light effects on cars?
A: There is a minimum amount of light that has to come from headlights. You have to be sure you don’t get light output below this level. Besides, most of us like to see cars, people, trees, and deer BEFORE we hit them, and try to avoid them, not after. Smoke covers are really only safe for show cars, IMHO. As far as window tint, that is an easy one.

Q: How to you get to Northern Illinois University without a car?
as the topic says, I am transferring to NIU in Fall, and I am just wondering that how do I get there without a car ? or is there have any bus go there from Naperville to NIU ?????
please answer the question in detail, thank you
A: There are buses which leave from downtown Chicago which go to DeKalb. I believe Greyhound goes there.
Q: Does anybody know if Illinois has car window tint laws?
I’m moving to Illinois from Iowa soon and I was wondering if Illinois had the similiar strick laws for front window tinting.
A: Yes….
Rear windows are fine, front windows are a no-no.
But, many cops will ignore tinted windows if they aren’t heavily tinted.
Q: Can I sell my car in California if I have an Illinois title?
Seriously, I can’t get a straight answer about this anywhere! I live in California. I want to sell my car in California. But the title is from Illinois. Can I just sign over the Illinois title? Or do I need a California title? If so, how do I get one? This is driving me bonkers. Any help is much appreciated!
A: as long as the title is clear and you are the only one named on the title and its not a stolen car all you need to do is sign it over to the new owner, and california likes a bill of sale, with a price in it so they can charge sales tax, you can probably find a blank one online, (dmv has forms online you can print, I never looked for them so I have no clue whats available.) but a bill of sale is simple, just write bill of sale across the top of a blank page, under that write your name……………. ………………… I sold a 3000 dodge hot rod for the sum of ………………… in as is condition, no warranty for the sum of………………….. on this day ………………………….
to mr/mrs………………………………………….. this bill of sale relinquishes all rights to my dodge…………………. vin number………………………. then sign and date it.
technically the owner is required to smog it, calif has different rules for out of state vehicles, they are looser so you can take it down to get a smog certificate (good selling point) or not it depends on you, if you choose not to get the smog, and someone buys the car and it fails, there is little that they can do to you. They would need to find you, serve you papers from small claims court, then take you to court and try to prove to the judge it needed repairs. Typically if they spent 200 dollars to fix the car, the judge could ask you to pay 50% of the repair cost. This almost never happens, most people buy a car, and if it needs a smog cert and they don’t insist, then its on them later down the road to get one.
Q: how much does a car salesman make in illinois?
I am confused as to how much a car salesman makes in illinois
A: That’s kind of like asking “How much does a car salesman make on Tuesday?”
Some do very well, some not so well. They are commissioned salespeople, so the overall income has dropped about 1/3 from only a year ago.
Q: Why did the police take guns from a house fire in Illinois?
I live in illinois. Last night my neighbors house caught on fire. It was a small fire. When the police went in to investigate, they came out with a few guns. They took them to their police cars. No one was arrested. Why did the police take guns from a home in Illinois after a house fire? What are the Illinois laws about this?
A: Probably so that they were kept safe and secure. It is one thing for looters to enter and take a TV but you really don’t want them getting their hands on firearms. If no-one was arrested, they are probably just looking after them until the owners can get secure accommodation.
Q: how can i get to eastern illinois university from indiana university if im a student without a car?
how can i get to eastern illinois university from indiana university if im a student without a car? is there some type of bus system the university offers to transport me there or back?
A: No i don’t think so maybe u can take a taxi or summing have someone who’s going there drive you.
Q: What does an Illinois license plate with a DL after it mean?
I saw a car with a different Illinois license plate, and a horizontal DL written next to it. what does that mean?
A: It means something. I am not guessing
