am moving from chicago to new york…going to ship my car.but it takes a week or so for me to get the car in new york,…until then i have to rely on rentals..
i have a personal full car coverage..
so do i still need to get insurance on my rental.

Q: Smart Car Parking???
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you parked that ultra-compact SMART CAR in a city like Chicago,New York, Philadelphia,etc. in a parking space with a meter?
You know you could pro bally fit about three of these cars into one parking meter space without it even exceeding that one parking meter space, What would happen if the local parking enforcement officer came around and saw three of these SMART CARS in on parking meter space and the parking meter was valid and not expired. Would any of the three cars in that one space receive a parking ticket?

Q: Moving across the country, what should i do to make sure my car will make the trip?
I am moving from San Diego to Chicago and want to know what I should consider doing to my car to make sure that it makes it there OK.

Other than an oil change and checking tire pressure, what should I consider?

I got a 2001 mazda protege with 112,000 miles on it. New tires, new battery, pretty good condition, no major issues in the past. Overall, it’s been a pretty great car.

A: Check all your belts and hoses. Any cracks or are they misshappened ? When was the last time you changed your antifreeze ? Also going from california to chigago I would change the thermostat. It’s only a couple bucks and could save you a big hassle.
What kind of tires ? All season radials or ? Remebr it snows allot up there. Might want to have some tire chains so you don’t get stuck.

Q: how can i make moving from chicago to santa barbara, ca without a car easier?
my boyfriend and i plan on putting a majority of our money together to move from the suburbs of chicago, to santa barbara, ca. unfortunately, he doesn’t drive and i very highly doubt my car will make the trip. therefore, that leaves us with either the bus or train (flying is too costly). we plan on using public transit and biking to get around once in SB, but now we’re faced with a new dilemma: how do we get our larger belongings like a couch, bed, etc, cross-country without a car?

if there is such a way, what would be some cheaper options, if any? or would we be just better off buying new furnishing once out there?

any help is majorly appreciated. i’m counting on you, guys! thanks in advance. :]

A: You do realize you are moving to a very expensive part of California where a lot of millionaires live? And you are going there without money? The best I can think of is try and get a medium sized Uhaul truck. Either that or don’t take any furniture with you, just live light til you have the money to start anew. Good Luck on the move!!!

Q: Why whenever I met a new girl she wants to know what kind of car do I drive?

Whenever I met a girl whether it be in school at work wherever she wants to know if I drive and what car do I drive.

It’s not only me it seems like when all guys meet a new girl one of the first questions is “Do you drive?”

It’s like if I didn’t drive they won’t talk to me. It makes them seem like gold diggers and are using you for the use of your car.

It’s not like I’m some rich guy and flashy or I live in a rich neighborhood. I live in a middle class home in Chicago and by the way I drive a 1999 Honda Accord.

A: Im not going to lie, I am that type that asks what car a guy drives. I guess part of it is very materialistic, where I hope a guy has a nice car. I wouldnt feel as good riding in a clunker than I did in a nice car. I used to not mind (my ex had a crappy car) but when he got a nicer one I liked it so much more. I think for me too, a car tells a lot about a person. If the car is nice and well taken care of then the person probably is too. If the car is a piece of crap and is messy, well then the person may be a bit sloppier of a person and it could reflect that they dont have much money.(even if they do).

Q: What should I do in the car while going on vacation?
I’m going to Chicago soon (Hurray for china town!) and I want to know what I can do during the car ride. These are some of my Ideas:

A: Only if your broker is also licenced to sell insurance in New York, which is highly unlikely. Even if he was, it would be insured to and rated for your New York address, so there would be no point.

Q: Why is it so hard to keep a car looking perfect?
I bought my car last august. Right off the lot, a 2010 fusion. Ive had it for a year, and I try so hard to keep it looking brand new, but its so hard. Every where I look theres a new scratch or something, it fucking pisses me off. Driving through the Chicago winter really fucked me over :/

A: Leave it in the garage and NEVER take it out. Do not drive it. It will look perfect forever.

Washing it once a week and waxing it once a month will help protect the finish. Not much you can do about scratches from road debris or morons in parking lots who don’t pay attention to cars parked next to them when they open their doors.

Q: Taking over car payments. Help!?
I live in Milwaukee (moving to Chicago in a couple of weeks) and i’m looking to buy a new car. BUT i still have payments on my PT Cruiser to make (which my mom co-signed with me to get).

My cousin (who also lives in chicago) wants to take over the payments to my cruiser. How do I go about giving over the car payments to her, under her name. What are the steps I need to take in order for her to have my car and the payments. The the process take long to to take care of?

A: your cousin cant just ‘take over payments’. She would have to apply for, and get approved to finance the car under her own name. The bank will have to approve her just as if she were buying this car off the street. They also need to approve the car for the value of the loan. So if you are upside down, that is one more strike.

If you let her just make payments, but keep the car under your name, you are running a big risk. In that case, the insurance needs to stay under your name, and you are financially responsible if she runs over a busload of nuns and orphans. Plus, if she stops making payments, its your credit that is ruined.

Q: How can I make new friends? 10pts!!!?
I am 19years old and I am attending a community college with very unfriendly people, the students there just come, do work and leave they aren’t trying to make friends. My friends from high school never want to hang out, we all drifted away from each other. I am really tired of being in the house all the time and I was wondering how could make new friends. A: Should i get a rent a car with snow tires? – get a car with front wheel drive. It makes a huge difference. Also, if we get heavy snow (>10″), just stay off the streets until the plows come thru.

Q: Car shake heavily between 50 and 60 mph and does a slight shake the rest of the time.?
I need a fix for this problem it is really annoying and I wonder about my safety! I already got all 4 tires balanced and that didn’t change anything. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know of a good shop that does tire balancing, alignment, and new tires in the west suburbs of Chicago

A: first of all what kind of car is it?? if its a rear wheel drive it could be a bent drive shaft or a worn universal joint, does it have a squeak when u drive it? if its front wheel drive it could be a worn cv joint or bent axle, maybe one of the tires have become separated ( tire plies separating) check for a strange bulge on one of the tires. are the tires of the same make/ size??
there are many things that can cause a shake in the vehicle, warped brake rotors can cause a terrible shake, does it get worse if you step on the brakes? if so check the rotors. does it shake the steering wheel or does it seem like it is coming from the rear of the car?
you could check the rims looking for a bent one but it would get worse as speed increased

Im doing a project for my economic class. My assignment is to become a new person and I then have to plan my budget. So far I am a single woman, I’m 22 years old, and just out of college. I have a degree in communications. I do not live at home and my rent is at least $700 per month. I do not have a car.

A: look in the paper, odds are your appartment is going to be crappy but you can even rent rooms out of houses for only about 300, some even have your own bathroom, goodluck.

Q: Where is a good school in Chicago or Naperville that I can learn interior decorating for free?
I would like to learn a new skill of interior decorating, professional organizer, personal shopper or drive a company car/van to deliver food as a personal shopper for seniors, etc. Is there any school/college that is free and will train you in these areas? Is there any company that I can work for and do these things I’ve mentioned? I’m dependable, reliable and love to do a great job with a smile and zest.
