Q: I park my car on Laflin near Taylor st in Chicago. Should I worry about getting towed if it snows?
I’m wondering if there’s any restrictions about parking on the street if it snows more than 2 inches. I don’t think I’ve seen any signs that have warnings about being towed if there’s snow, but it’s Chicago, and this is the first winter I have a car in the city, so any help is appreciated.
A: yes they will tow it…even with no signs posted it is still no parking on the street after either one or two inches of snowfall
Q: Is there any other way to Galena IL from Chicago besides by car?
Does a train or Greyhound stop there?
A: Greyhound cancelled the Rockford > Galena route a few yrs ago. According to the greyhound site, there is bus service but no schedule was available. Call the below number for service information:
1-800-231-2222
*The closest city to Galena is not Rockford.
Dubuque, IA is about 20 miles to the west. American Eagle flts from ORD will get you there. A taxi or limo can take you the rest of the way:

There have been “special” Fall color train excursions from Chgo to Galena in the Autumn but these are not a regular schedule. They’re private tours.
Q: what would be a good short term car rental in chicago, IL with the best price and can withstand long driving?
we want a car that can fit a considerable amount of luggage and can fit 5 people
a very comfortable car for hte long drive
A: Whatever specifications you are asking for are you can get it a good sedan car. But if you need a very large compartment that you can get in SUV. Sedan cars have a pretty big luggage compartment but SUV’s have a very large sort of space left even if all the 5 persons are seated. You can view and select all sorts cars at http://www.usacarsrental.com/ . It is very good car rental company that is powered by car trawler. You can also look out for many more interesting offers at the site.
Was nice helping.

Q: Anywhere in chicago to drive own car fast?
Very Weird question, but, is where somewhere in chicago where I can drive my car fast? with own car? that is totally LEGAL? Thankss
A: Unfortunately there are no Autobahns in Chicago.
Q: What company has the best rates in Chicago for home and car insruance?
Lowest rates, best coverage, no hidden fees.
A: In Chicago, I don’t know about home insurance, but for car, Geico seems okay. If one is looking for cheaper rates, there is Northwest Insurance. But I don’t know about their claim servicing, though. Allstate is pretty costly.
Q: how many hours driving by car from winnipeg to chicago?

Q: I’m going to be in Chicago tomorrow with a car for only 3 hours… where do I go?
I will have a car, I will have 3 hours and want to at least say I experienced a few moments of famous Chicago. It’ll be like 10am-1pm so maybe a cool place for lunch in a cool area? Any suggestions?
6/5/10
North Michigan Ave it is! Thanks guys!!
A: Both answerers above mention Michigan Ave. I will too but not to the shopping area or getting on a “free trolley” that hasn’t run since 2009.
Drive to Michigan Ave and park underground in Grant Park. The north end is Millenium Park. That’s the parking garage. It should not be too crowded. Go to street level and check out the park, sculptures, the Bean, checkout the famous skyline and have an early lunch at the Park Grill while watching people stroll by, then walk over to the Pritzker Pavilion for a free concert:

A: About 13 hours to cover 764 miles.
Q: cheapest way to get from phoenix to chicago? car, plane, train, bus?
cheapest way to get from phoenix to chicago? car, plane, train, bus? please include sites.
A: Check out www.allegiantair.com If you can plan a little you can fly from Mesa to Rockford, Ill. for as little as $89. From there you can take the Coach-USA bus to Union Station for $19. You will have to figure a cab ride from the Rockford airport to the Clock Tower Inn to catch the bus. They leave for Chicago hourly on the hour. The flight is non-stop. The bus is supposed to be, but who knows with traffic conditions.
Q: What car brands are going to be at the Chicago Autoshow?

Q: where can i get theatre props in chicago area for HS production of grease? we need the car?
my old hs theatre is putting on the production of grease and my lil brother is in it…they need a car for obvious reasons…the sad part is there was a car but the people running theatre during my time left and took EVERYTHING…so can sum1 please help me find them a car from a rental prop place or whatever? I know chicago has theatre prop rental places….so im hoping someone can help these kids
A: I was in a production of Grease in high school and we got the body of an old sports car from an auto yard. They gave it to us for free in exchange for an advertisement in the program. They ended up building a wooden platform on wheels for the car to sit on so it could be easily moved about the stage. As I recall, the only scene we used it for was “Greased Lightening.”
Good luck! I have nothing but fond memories from this production!
Q: Im 18 Years old and I need to rent a car in chicago, IL?
I need to rent a car for the weekend while in chicago but im only 18 i have a valid credit card and license. any solutions? thanks
A: They do not know what they are talking about. There are plenty of rental companies that rent to people over 18 years old. Seriously people if you do not know what you are talking about, then say nothing do not give out the WRONG advise. Go to www.rentawreck.com. They rent to anyone over 18 who can provide proof of insurance. Go to their website and find the location closest to where you want to rent from, then call them up. Additionally go to WWW.GOOGLE.com and search “car rental age 18″. I am sure a few other rental agencies will pop up. Good luck renting a car!
Q: How can I get to Devil’s Head in WI from Chicago without a car?
Is there a bus or shuttle from Madison? I am coming from Chicago, my friend bailed on me now after weeks of anticipation, I need a ride tomorrow!!!!
A: Sorry to hear that. You may be out of luck. If you’re going tomorrow, as in Monday, your best bet is to start calling every ski shop you can find in the city or suburbs, as well as ones in Madison to see if anyone knows of transportation that will get you there. I can’t find any online from either city.
Your only option might be to try to find a cheap rental car. On short notice, it’ll be tough, though. I found a rate for pickup at O’Hare Monday and drop off Friday for $147 here:
http://www.carrentalexpress.com/
Good luck!
Q: What should I do in the car on my way to Chicago?
I like road trips but I get board easilly. I want to have something to do for the 5 hour drive from Detroit. I love Chicago but the ride gets boring. I have tried reading but it doesnt really hold my attention well enough to keep me occupied. What are some good things to bring if I want to have a little fun on the way there?
A: Passenger on a five hour car ride? Figure this, you have 5 1-hour blocks of time to fill. Bring a bunch of different things so none of them have to hold your attention that long. Here are some ideas:
Look out the window: Yeah, the stretch to Detroit is not the most exciting to look at, but hey, watching for farms and farm animals is good for a little time. It’s not your usual scenery if you are suburban or urban. And of course, there’s always the fun of car bingo and watching for different license plates, and watching people in the other cars.
Puzzles: if you like crosswords, word searches, sudoku, you can seriously get zapped for long stretches of time on them. Any good magazine rack will have several puzzle magazines, and you can get books full of them at any bookstore.
Laptop: A fully charged battery should last a couple or so hours. If you’ve got some games you can play that don’t require the net, you’ve got stuff to do. Or, you can open up a word processor and start to write. And, if you have a car charger, you can plug into the outlet in the car and have it on the whole time. Have a map program? Now you’ve got a productive use as well!
Books/Magazines: Reading may not keep you occupied for 5 hours, but how about for a shorter stretch? Read a couple of times for 20-30 minutes and you’ve just done something productive for 20% of the trip.
MP3 player: Something to listen to music on should make a 5 hour drive go much faster. If the computer has your music collection and you can charge off the car, you can use the computer for the player.
Cell phone: got minutes? You should be able to talk on any interstate without getting dropped, especially in the flat, flat fields of Michigan and Indiana.
If there are other people in the car with you, consider a travel board game, or bring a deck of cards.
And finally, if you can sleep in the car, nap! The rhythm of the highway can relax you.
Happy travels.
